About my practice
I offer counselling in my Axminster practice where I see couples for couples counselling and equal numbers of men and women who come alone for individual personal counselling. I have created a counselling environment which is calm, quiet, confidential, and welcoming. My clients vary in age and background ranging from eighteen to eighty and have a broad range of jobs and professions. My practice covers East Devon, South Somerset and West Dorset: Axminster, Honiton, Budleigh Salterton, Ottery St Mary, Sidmouth, Branscombe, Beer, Colyton, Seaton, Lyme Regis, Chard, Crewkerne, Bridport and West bay. Clients also come from Exmouth and Collumpton.
I also offer telephone counselling if a person is not able to come for face to face counselling.
My Fees
Individuals: £40.00
Couples: £50.00
Tel. Counselling: £40.00
A reduction can be negotiated for those on low incomes or receiving benefits. Each session is 55 minutes long. Payment is by cash or cheque or prior BACS payment. This also applies to telephone counselling if face to face counselling is not possible.
Length of Counselling
My counselling is tailored to each person’s needs. Occasionally one session is enough if someone is looking for clarification. Usually couples counselling is shorter in length as often issues can be dealt with and changes made more quickly when both partners are present. Individual personal counselling can often take longer depending on the issues involved and whether they can be resolved quickly or are on-going.
My theoretical approach
I use various theoretical approaches based on the situation and needs of each client. I take a Person Centred approach integrating various other theories such as Attachment and Loss, Psychodynamic Counselling, Systemic Theory, and Transactional Analysis. I also use aspects of Neuro Linguistic Programming and Behavioural Therapy.
